  • Signs Road, Office & ADA UCI 118

The UCI Sign Shop is a customer model Private Sector Prison Industries Enhancement program (PS/PIE) which is authorized to sell signs to State and Federal government agencies as well as to the private sector. With over 20 years of continual manufacturing experience, we produce a large assortment of signs and related products. We have the capability to produce interior and exterior office signs, standard and custom MUTCD signs, and roll-up fabric signs. We can also produce specialty signs, including banners, posters, magnets, decals, and Braille (ADA compliant signage). In addition, we can provide stands, frames, and bases for a variety of signs.

With modern equipment — such as wide-format solvent ink printers and digital laser engravers — plus the latest in silk-screening technology and an in-house graphic arts department, we produce standard and custom signage to fit any of our customer needs. The Sign Shop inmates are committed to customer satisfaction and pride themselves in making products that will represent our customers in a professional manner.

As a result of this drive to provide the best products possible, the UCI Sign Shop has been privileged to appear twice in the national trade publication, Sign Builder Illustrated.

A few of our customers are:

  • Utah Department of Transportation. With a long term partnership, UDOT requests a large volume of signs on a regular basis. We are able to meet their specific needs and time constraints forging a lasting partnership.
  • United States Forest Service. The USFS is a long time customer. Because of this relationship, UCI has been providing signs to the federal agency for many years.
  • A majority of State entities, such as the Department of Health, Natural Resources and the State Courts buy from UCI regularly with a variety of sign requests for both indoor and outdoor use.

The Private Industry, including many construction companies and a wide variety of businesses, come to UCI for required signage on their projects.

Our capability and quality is second to none. Refer to State Contract UCI 118.

Our goal at UCI is to create an individualized parole plan for each of the participants in our program. We encourage each of our parolees to picture themselves in their dream job, and we attempt to develop the necessary skills for that job. Including highlighting their strengths in their resume and going through mock interviews for the specified profession. These professions include transportation, shipping, general manufacturing, construction, sales, customer service, and janitorial services. However, we strive not to limit our program participants to any “felony friendly” professions, as we have observed an influx of businesses that are willing to delay considering contact with the justice system until they have compared the merits of all applicants.
